Courses & Activities
Learn a new skill, build confidence and make connections through our diverse training courses, health and wellbeing programs, leisure activities and social groups.
Childcare
Educational and flexible care for children aged 3 months to 6 years, with a focus on developmental learning and community support for families and adult learners.
Support Services
Access support through our emergency food relief programs, as well as face-to-face information and help with forms, tax and other matters, by appointment.
Community Development
Advice, advocacy and auspicing services to help you bring your community project or idea to life.
Venue Hireโ
Multiple rooms with facilities and equipment available for single or ongoing hire for community-oriented programs, meetings, workshops and other ventures.
Volunteering
Community members looking to contribute can volunteer in childcare, emergency relief, administration, housekeeping and maintenance, as well as becoming part of the House Committee.
Neighbourhood House FAQs
We provide regular, pre-accredited adult education courses in computers and mobile devices, job preparation, English language, sewing and more. We also offer a range of skills and leisure programs based on community interest. View our current programs or suggest an idea for a class, group or project today!
Yes, we are a licensed childcare provider and service offering permanent and flexible bookings for either 5-hour or 3-hour sessions on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays during Victorian school terms. We are Child Care Subsidy (CCS) approved, meaning you can access government-subsidised childcare at our centre.
We offer food relief (fresh produce and pantry items, subject to availability) on Wednesdays during school terms, from 10:30 amโ12:30 pm. All in need are welcome. We also provide support through information and referrals.
Yes, we encourage local participation through volunteering โ share your skills with our community while learning new skills and making connections. View our opportunities here.

Outlets Co-op Neighbourhood House (a.k.a. Newport Community Education Centre) is a vibrant, not-for-profit, community-run organisation located in the heart of Newport. Established in 1973, weโve recently celebrated 50 years of being a local centre of social connection and support, neighbourhood information, education, community development and social services.
Offering a range of skill and recreational courses and activities, flexible childcare and various community and social support programs, we serve as a holistic hub for personal growth and community welfare. We pride ourselves on being an inclusive space where all community members are welcome. Drop in and visit us, we look forward to meeting you!
